Winter Showcase 2026: A Powerful Start to Performance & Competition Season

Winter Showcase 2026: A Powerful Start to Performance & Competition Season

The weekend of February 28 and March 1, 2026 officially launched the performance and competition season for our 2025.26 Nebraska Dance programs- and what a start it was!

Held at Elkhorn North High School, the 2026 Nebraska Dance Winter Showcase brought together five incredible performances featuring our Competitive and Performance Programs, along with our talented soloists. From the first step on stage to the final curtain call, the weekend was filled with energy, confidence, and heart.

With costumes under bright stage lights, the buzz of backstage excitement, and the unmistakable camaraderie that defines our studio, the Winter Showcase once again set the tone for the season ahead. Most importantly, it celebrated the growth, preparation, and dedication our dancers have poured into this year.

ND Love – Celebrating 25 Years of Nebraska Dance

This season’s theme, “ND Love – Celebrating 25 Years of Nebraska Dance,” was woven through every performance.

As we reflect on what has sustained Nebraska Dance for 25 years, one message continues to rise to the surface:

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
– 1 Corinthians 13:13

While choreography changes and dancers grow from season to season, love remains at the center- love for the art, love for the process, and love for one another. That spirit was evident all weekend long, not just in the performances themselves, but in the encouragement backstage, the proud smiles from families, and the joy shared across every program.

Winter Showcase wasn’t just about routines. It was about community.

Celebrating Our Alumni

One of our favorite parts of the weekend was welcoming back so many Nebraska Dance alumni. Seeing familiar faces in the audience, and getting the chance to reconnect between shows, was a powerful reminder of the lasting impact of our studio family.

We loved hosting our Alumni Lounge, created just for them, complete with sweet treats and a fun dirty soda bar. It was a small way to say thank you to the dancers who helped shape the first 25 years of Nebraska Dance. Watching alumni cheer on the next generation from the audience beautifully embodied this season’s theme of ND Love- proof that once you’re in the Nebraska Dance family, you’re always a part of it.

Celebrating Our Squad

For our Squad program, the Winter Showcase marked their final performance of the year. After an already eventful competition season, this weekend served as a celebration of everything they’ve accomplished.

We are incredibly proud of their commitment, resilience, and growth- and we’re already looking forward with excitement to what the 2026.27 Squad season will bring.

Looking Ahead: Competition & Performance Season

For the rest of our programs, this weekend was just the beginning.

With the confidence of their first full stage performance behind them, our dancers now head into a busy and exciting competition season. Company travels to Chicago this coming weekend, followed by competitions and performances for all programs in Omaha, Kansas City, and Des Moines throughout March, April, and May.

One of the most meaningful highlights of our season is our annual Benefit Concert, where our entire studio comes together to perform in our “Carnival for a Cause” to support a local charity organization.

Later this spring, our 2026 Dance Concerts will celebrate the culmination of a year’s worth of growth and artistry. Company will then close out their season at Nationals in Branson, Missouri.

The road ahead is full- but after this weekend, we are more than ready!

A Weekend to Remember

Winter Showcase 2026 reminded us why we do what we do. It celebrated preparation, perseverance, artistry, and above all, love.

As we step into competition and performance season, we do so with confidence and gratitude- honoring 25 years of Nebraska Dance and the community that continues to make it feel like home.

Here’s to a season filled with growth, connection, and many more unforgettable moments on stage.
