ND Love: Celebrating 25 Years of Nebraska Dance
This season, Nebraska Dance celebrates a milestone that is bigger than any single performance, concert, or curtain call. Our 25th anniversary season is a celebration of people, connection, and the love that has shaped Nebraska Dance into what it is today. The theme guiding every performance this year, from the Winter Showcase to our spring dance concerts, is ND Love.
At its heart, ND Love is not just about movement. It’s about meaning.
As we reflected on what has sustained Nebraska Dance for 25 years, we kept returning to a familiar passage:
“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
1 Corinthians 13:13
This verse reminds us that while seasons change and time moves forward, love is what endures. For Nebraska Dance, love is woven into every class and rehearsal, every collaboration, and every connection formed in our studios and on our stages.
❤ Love In the People
Nebraska Dance has always been more than a program, it is a community. Over the past 25 years, thousands of students, alumni, faculty, guest artists, and supporters have passed through our spaces. Each person has left a mark, contributing to a legacy built on care, mentorship, and shared passion.
ND Love lives in the relationships between dancers learning to trust one another through movement. It’s found in the faculty who challenge students to grow not only as artists, but as people. It exists in the friendships that begin in class and last long after graduation. These connections are not accidental. They are cultivated through time, commitment, and a shared passion for dance.
❤ Love in the Process
Dance demands strength and vulnerability. It asks us to show up fully, physically, emotionally, and creatively. ND Love is present in the moments when dancers support one another through the hard work: early mornings, long rehearsals, injuries, breakthroughs, and quiet victories.
This season’s performances reflect that process. Every piece you see is shaped by collaboration, trust, and the courage to create together. ND Love shows up in how dancers listen to one another, respond to one another, and move as one collective body while honoring individual voices.
❤ Love Across Generations
A 25th anniversary invites us to look both backward and forward. We honor those who built the foundation of Nebraska Dance and those who continue to carry it forward. Alumni remain deeply connected to this community, returning as artists, educators, audience members, parents and supporters. Their ongoing involvement is a testament to the lasting bonds formed here.
ND Love bridges generations. It is passed down through stories, traditions, and shared values of faith in the work, hope for what’s possible, and love for the art form and each other.
❤ Love on Stage & Beyond
This season’s Winter Showcase and dance concerts are celebrations of ND Love in motion. Every performance is an invitation for audiences to witness not just dance, but relationships, between dancers, between ideas, and between the stage and the community watching.
As audiences, you are part of ND Love too. Your presence, encouragement, and support allow this community to thrive. Love is not only created in the studio; it is shared and multiplied when it is witnessed.
❤ Moving Forward in Love
As we celebrate 25 years of Nebraska Dance, we do so with gratitude and joy. Faith, hope, and love have carried us this far, but love remains the greatest, guiding us into the future.
❤ ND Love is who we are.
❤ ND Love is what connects us.
❤ ND Love is what will continue to move us forward together.
Here’s to 25 years of Nebraska Dance, and to the love that makes every step matter!
