At Nebraska Dance, we are continually reminded of the unique privilege we share—to use our time, talent, and passion in service of something greater than ourselves. For over 25 years, our community has come together to support and partner with incredible Omaha organizations, raising both funds and awareness for the meaningful work they do each and every day.
On May 2nd, the Nebraska Dance family gathered once again, this time in support of Connected Roots Care Center (CRCC). It was a beautiful reflection of what can happen when a community unites with purpose and heart.
CRCC’s mission is to provide children and young adults with individualized care rooted in quality education, specialized nursing, rehabilitation therapy, and behavioral health services. They serve families who often have limited or no other childcare options, offering not only care, but hope, support, and belonging. At the heart of their work is a powerful belief—that all children thrive when given the opportunity to learn, grow, and connect together. By fostering an inclusive environment where children of all abilities engage side by side, CRCC empowers those with developmental needs to reach their fullest potential, while nurturing empathy, kindness, and social awareness in every child they serve.
The day itself was filled with energy and joy – dancing, carnival games, delicious food, and a special featured performance by our Nebraska Dance seniors alongside a group of CRCC children. It was more than an event; it was a celebration of connection, laughter, and shared experiences that will stay with us for years to come.
CRCC holds a special place in the hearts of many within our Nebraska Dance family. Several of our own families are deeply connected to the center and have been personally touched by the life-changing care and support it provides. Hearing their stories during the concert was a powerful reminder of the impact of this work, leaving not a dry eye in the room and inspiring us all.
